Week 21

Emily has two new fascinations—her feet and her jumperoo. She has figured out how to get her left foot in her mouth, so if she is left to her own devices while lying on her back, you can be sure that her foot will be in her mouth. We’ve had to remove her socks numerous times because they were soaking wet.

After hearing from my mom how much Emily enjoys the jumperoo at her house, we found one on craigslist for our house. She loves bouncing around in it. We can set it so that music and lights turn on when she jumps, which she finds very fun. However, we’ve noticed that now instead of “standing” in our laps with our support, she tries to jump in our laps. Regardless, it’s fun to watch her enjoy herself.

This past Saturday she finally rolled to her right side for the first time. Still no signs of her being able to roll from her tummy to her back, but she can now go in both directions from her back to her tummy. This leads to more difficult naps, as she rolls onto her tummy and then gets stuck. We’re hoping she figures out how to roll back soon!
