Big Girl

It's official--Emily is now a big girl. For the first time, last Monday, she answered "gir-gir" (girl) when I asked whether she was a big girl or a baby. Since then, she has not once answered that she is a baby. Oh, I miss my baby already!

All the latest:

• Her newest "word" is she now says the letter "A".
  
• Her new favorite food is a "cream cheese sandwich", which is two pieces of whole-grain bread, crusts removed, spread with a very thin layer of organic cream cheese. She would eat it at every meal if we let her.
  
• She finally went for over a week without getting sick, but now has a cold again.
• She loves playing with Play-Doh. "Playing" really means that mommy and daddy have to sculpt whatever animal or person she asks for.
• She is finally playing make-believe, and loves doing pretend things with figurines.
  
• Every man she sees is a "da-da", and every woman a "ma-ma." Although, she will sometimes call an older man a "pa-pa."
• She is a little Miss Contrarian. If you ask her a question, and then nod or shake your head, she will do the opposite. Then, if you switch to doing the same thing she is doing, she will switch again. This goes on, and on, and on...
