Week 9

This picture just about says it all. We are all SUPER excited that Emily has slept no less than 7:45 each night for the last week! She actually slept for 9 hours straight last night, leading to the first uninterrupted 8+ hours of sleep for Andrew and I since she was born. We think there are two things that have helped contribute to her new ability to sleep: the "Tomato Suit" and the air conditioning. We started dressing her in the tomato sleeper you see in many of the pictures from this week last Wednesday night. I'm convinced that it makes her more comfortable. It fits her like a glove, and we love it. :)

As you'll also see in one of the pictures, she has developed a rather unique pattern of hair. She has this ring around the base of her head of longer hair, and looks pretty much bald everywhere else. We call it "Emily Pattern Baldness". It's pretty cute...

She had her two-month check-up this morning, and she is doing well. She weighs 11 lbs, 1 oz, and is 23.25 inches long. She's at about the 55th percentile for weight, but the 76th for length, so I'm guessing she's going to be tall (big surprise)! She got all of her immunizations at the doctor's appointment, and she seems to be in a bit of pain, but we're hoping she'll feel better tomorrow.

She has been so much more interactive this week. She has these periods where she will really respond to what you're saying and give tons of smiles. She can also now hold her head pretty much steady when she is sitting upright. She can also lift her head to about 60 degrees or so when she's on her tummy. We're trying to give her more tummy time so that she can get even better at holding her head up.
